We have worked with more than 40 brands over the past six years
We believe in the power of imperfection.
Uptelling was born from a simple idea: the most powerful stories are the ones that are true.
Our story
We started as storytellers before we were ever a production company. Uptelling is an Italian video production company based between Milano and Ticino which over the past six years has grown into one of Italy’s most awarded independent production houses — with a body of work that spans commercial television, international documentary, feature film and branded content for some of the world’s most recognised outdoor and lifestyle brands. But the number we’re most proud of isn’t a view count or a festival win. It’s the number of clients who came back. Because we don’t just deliver a film. We deliver clarity — on what a brand stands for, what it wants to say, and how to say it in a way that actually moves people.
Pre-Production is everything
Most productions spend 10% of their energy on pre-production and wonder why the result feels scattered. We do it the other way around. Before a single frame is shot, we obsess over the why. Why this story? Why now? Why this person, this location, this angle? What do we want the audience to feel in the final ten seconds — and how do we engineer every decision before and during the shoot to make that feeling inevitable? This is what we call working from the end. It’s not a technique. It’s a discipline. It’s also why our productions consistently come in on brief, on budget and on time — even when we’re shooting at 3,000 metres in a snowstorm.
WHY UPTELLING
We go where others don’t
Our team has spent eight months training at altitude to follow an athlete through the world’s hardest adventure race. We’ve hiked mountain passes in sub-zero temperatures, chased golden light at dawn on frozen lakes and set up cameras in conditions most crews would call off-limits. If your story demands it, we’ll be there.
We are obsessed with pre-production
Every hour spent in preparation saves three on set. We map out every shot, every contingency, every logistical challenge before we leave the office — so that when we’re in the field, we’re free to respond to the unexpected moments that make great films.
We think like your audience
We don’t just ask what you want to say. We ask what your audience needs to hear — and how to make them feel something true. That distinction is what separates content from storytelling.
WE’RE A SMALL TEAM. WE LIKE IT THAT WAY.
Uptelling is deliberately boutique. Every project we take on gets our full attention — from the first strategy conversation to the final colour grade. We don’t outsource our thinking. We don’t disappear after the brief. If you’re looking for a production partner who will care about your project as much as you do, you’ve found them.

Everything you need to know…
How long does a video production take from brief to delivery?
It depends on the format. A TV commercial or branded film typically takes 6 to 10 weeks from brief to final delivery — including concept development, pre-production, shoot and post-production. A documentary is a longer journey: 3 to 12 months depending on scope, locations and the story itself. Whatever the format, we give you a clear timeline at the start and we stick to it. Pre-production is where we earn that promise.
Do you work with clients outside Italy?
Yes — and we do it regularly. We’ve shot in Switzerland, France, Austria and across Europe, and we’re set up to work with international clients from brief to delivery entirely remotely when needed. Language is not a barrier: we work fluently in Italian and English across all stages of production.
We already have a creative concept. Can you handle just the production?
Absolutely. Some clients come to us with a fully developed concept and need a crew that can execute it at the highest level. Others come with nothing more than a feeling and need us to develop the story from scratch. We’re comfortable at both ends of that spectrum — and everywhere in between. Tell us where you are and we’ll figure out the best way to work together.
What kind of brands do you typically work with?
We work best with brands that have something real to say — and the courage to say it honestly. Our portfolio includes global outdoor and lifestyle brands like The North Face, Red Bull, Timberland and Napapijri, as well as independent productions, non-profits and corporate clients across Italy and Europe. What they all have in common is a belief that a well-told story is worth the investment.
How do you handle productions in remote or extreme locations?
It’s one of our core strengths. Our team has trained specifically for high-altitude and extreme-condition shoots — we followed an athlete across 1,238km of the Alps for the Red Bull X-Alps documentary Vulnerability, which meant shooting in snow, rain and sub-zero temperatures for weeks. We carry equipment designed for outdoor and remote production, and we build contingency planning into every shoot from day one. If the location is difficult, we’re probably more comfortable there than most crews would be anywhere.
